A GROUP of butchers, farmers and technicians have bared all for a cheeky WI-style calendar shoot.

Staff at Mainsgill Farm and Farm Shop at East Layton, North Yorkshire, posed with strategically-positioned farm implements and produce for the calendar, which they hope will raise £10,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service.

Visitors to this weekend's Dales Festival of Food and Drink will be among the first to see the 2009 calendar, which will cost around £5.

Farm shop owner Andrew Henshaw, 40, explained: "It all started as a bit of a joke at first.

"We were all kidding each other we should do a naked charity calendar like the ladies from the WI.

"We kept on calling each other's bluff and egging each other on, and before we knew it the photographer turned up and we just had to get on with it."

Mains Gill Farm shop and Tea Room serve all their own beef, pork, lamb, home made sausages and bacon along with a range of home produced cakes and puddings, all produced on the working farm.

Mr Henshaw, who runs the business with his wife Maria, added: "In the end was a lot of fun; I think the lads secretly enjoyed it. All our mates have been very supportive.

"After all, it's for a brilliant cause."

Mr Henshaw will be selling the calendar at his stall at the Dales Festival of Food and Drink, and after that it will be available from the Farm Shop as well as farmers' markets throughout the North East.
