CYCLISTS are being urged to sign up for charity ride in aid of a North Yorkshire hospice.

The countryside around Castle Howard near Malton will provide the backdrop for the challenge in aid of St Catherine's Hospice on May 17.

The Scarborough hospice wants bike riders young and old to tackle a three-mile route around the stately home's grounds to raise money.

But spaces are limited and organisers are urging anyone wishing to take part to register as soon as possible.

Fund-raising assistant Hayley Newton said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to get some exercise this spring and help St Catherine's."

Entry is £5 for adults and £1 for the under-16s, covering administration costs and a one-day pass into the grounds Whatever else people raise goes to help the hospice deliver its services in the area. On the day, cyclists will register between 10am and noon at Mill Hills, Castle Howard.
