25 pictures of Eggleston Show in County Durham

The show - now in its 146th year - took place on Saturday at Hayberries Farm, Mickleton, and boasted an array of attractions from livestock displays to home-grown produce and horseback fancy dress.

There were livestock and produce classes running throughout the day as well as a dog show, strongman competition and dozens of traders selling an array of goods.

Show Secretary Alan Gent said that around 3,500 people attended the show and a great day was had by all.

He said: "We had a brilliant day, the weather was fantastic for us, we had a really good crowd and good competition in all the classes.

"I was looking after the marquee classes and we were 300 exhibitors up compared to last year, meaning we had just short of 1,000 exhibitors in the marquee.

"The show was very good and everybody was happy and seemed to be having a good time - we didn't have any complaints anyway so that's a good thing!

"I spoke to the traders and they said they had had a good day, so all in all it was a brilliant show.

"I've already had a word with the landowner and we will be back there next year."
