The Redcar TLS/Simpson Racing UK Cubs are signing 20-year-old Australian Rider Aaron Summers as a replacement for the injured Greg Blair.

Aaron made his UK debut in 2007 for the Buxton Hitmen scoring 19 points at Stoke on his debut. He also rode toward the end of that season for the Edinburgh Monarchs in the Premier League and was offered a team-spot for 2008.

The fixture commitments for Edinburgh must come first which means that Aaron will miss the Cubs' away meetings at Plymouth and Weymouth.

The Aussie youngster teams up with Scott James in the Cubs Conference League septet both having started their career together in Adelaida alongside Redcar Bears reserve Arlo Bugeja - so no homesickness on the agenda!

Stated Redcar junior team manager Jason Pipe: "I would like to thank the Edinburgh promotion.especially John Campbell, for their help and agreement to allow Aaron to show off his skills to the Redcar fans.

"Signing Aaron has given us a massive boost after losing our number one Greg Blair before the season has even started. I believe Aaron has the ability to be top of the Cubs averages come the end of the 2008 season and the fans should appreciate what a good signing he is once he starts riding for the Cubs."
