Signs have been put up and a new shop will be opening in Darlington very soon.

A bargain-lovers paradise will be opening in the town very soon and it is expected to be a huge hit.

A bigger Home Bargains shop will be moving into the Darlington Retail Park next weekend.

The new store will replace an older store and is moving into a new unit, meaning more space for shoppers to browse.

It is also set to be almost double the size of the existing shop.

The opening of the new store has also created a number of jobs for locals.

A spokesperson from Home Bargains previously told The Northern Echo: “We are delighted to announce that we will continue to invest in Yarm Road and the surrounding communities.

“Our current store will be closing on 16 September, as we will be opening a new store on the same retail park, on 17 September.

“The new look Home Bargains will be more than double the size of our existing store. This will give us the opportunity to showcase an even greater range of products and amazing prices for our customers, as well and being able to introduce our fresh bakery range.

“We will also be recruiting additional colleagues from the local community, with all jobs being advertised on our website at www.jobs.homebargains.co.uk.”

The store is known for selling household goods, toiletries including skincare and makeup, and children’s clothes and toys at competitive prices, which will be popular given the current cost-of-living crisis.
