Three people were taken to hospital following a serious crash on the A66 in County Durham on Thursday (August 18).
The collision between two cars lead to major traffic disruption, as the A66 was closed in both directions for a number of hours, between Bowes and Scotch Corner.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: "Police were called just after 10.45am today to a two-vehicle collision on the A66 eastbound near Boldron involving a Mitsubishi and an Audi.
"The two occupants of the Audi and driver of the Mitsubishi were taken to hospital as a result of the collision."

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 10.49am this morning to reports of a road traffic incident on the A66 near Barnard Castle, County Durham.
"We dispatched two ambulance crew, one rapid responder, one specialist paramedic, and two crews from our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).
"Three patients were then taken to the Darlington Memorial Hospital for further treatment."
There were also reports of major traffic disruption in Barnard Castle, due to diversions.
The A66 road was reopened in both directions by 2.20pm.
