- Three people have been taken to hospital with injuries following a crash on the A66 near Bowes in County Durham.
- The road was closed for a number of hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.
- The North East Ambulance Service dispatched two ambulance crew, one rapid responder, one specialist paramedic, and two crews from our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).
- Three patients were then taken to the Darlington Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
- Durham Police have been contacted for more information.
- The road is the main trans-Pennine route for County Durham and the closure can be expected to cause major disruption.
