A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms has once again been issued for the North East.
The UK is entering a more unsettled period of weather, with thunderstorms dominating the forecast up to Wednesday.
A number of Yellow thunderstorm warnings have been issued for the UK, highlighting the potential for frequent lightning, large hail and flash flooding impacts from the intense rainfall which could see values of at least 50mm in a two or three-hour period in a few places.
The Met Office said weather in the region will be cloudy, especially toward hills and coasts. Sea fret is likely to linger for much of the day.

Outbreaks of light rain or showers through the morning, with showers becoming heavy and thundery in parts, likely focused on higher ground. Maximum temperature 19 °C.
Into tonight, rain and cloud will slowly clear from the north through the evening, becoming clear and dry for all parts overnight. Cooler than recently. Minimum temperature 7 °C.
Yellow warning: what to expect
Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.
Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.
There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.
