A man was taken to hospital with serious head injuries following a serious assault outside a market town's high street bar.
North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident outside ZOO in Northallerton at around 2am on Friday August 5.
A police spokesperson said: “The victim, a local man aged in his late 20s, was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious head serious injuries which have resulted in ongoing treatment.

“The suspect, a 32-year-old man from Northallerton, left the scene but was arrested for the assault a short time later.
“He has been released on conditional police bail while inquiries continue.
“We're requesting your assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“In particular, we're appealing for information from those who witnessed the incident to come forward as soon as possible.”
