A high street pizza shop has honoured one of the England Women’s Football team following the squad’s European Championships victory on Sunday (July 31).

The Lionesses secured the country’s first major international trophy for the first time in 56 years over the weekend after Ella Toone and Chloe Kelly scored goals in a 2-1 extra-time win against Germany in the Euro 2022 final.

In the aftermath of the victory, the team have been celebrating the momentous occasion – taking to Trafalgar Square on Monday (August 1) to parade the European trophy and to speak about their hopes of inspiring a generation.

Alongside the team’s celebrations, the Lionesses have won widespread praise from the public, the Royal family, politicians, and people from a whole host of cross-sections of society.

This also includes big-name brands.

Not wanting to miss out on the celebrations, Dominos pizza shop, which has outlets up and down the country, has rebranded one of their takeaway shops ‘Lucy’s’ as a nod to one of the Lioness’ squad.

Dominos in Headingley was seen taking down their usual branding on Monday (August 1) and replacing it with the ‘Lucy’s’ lettering – inspired by the efforts of England right-back Lucy Bronze.

While Bronze hails from Berwick-Upon-Tweed in Northumberland, the Leeds-based restaurant is where the footballer used to work while she studied at Leeds Becket University.

After getting the new branding up on the shop, workers at Dominos were also seen giving out free pizzas to everyone named Lucy on Monday.
