A popular kids TV show featuring two North East stars finished filming in the region last week.

CBBC show Danny and Mick wrapped up filming for its fifth season last week after shooting on location in Alnwick, Northumberland.

The children’s TV show stars Danny Adams and brother Mick Potts who rose to fame in Newcastle’s Theatre Royal Pantomime, winning over audiences for over 15 years alongside dad Clive Webb.

The show sees Danny playing a dogsbody in a leisure centre where brother Mick works as a security guard. It also features former Eastenders actress Nina Wadia.

It was previously filmed at Newbiggin Leisure Centre in Newbiggin by the Sea, but moved to Alnwick for the new series.

BBC bosses recommissioned the comedy sketch show for another 20 episodes which are expected to air in the coming months.

The team behind the show shared the news on Twitter that filming was complete for the latest series and thanked those working on it.

Danny and Mick will also star in Cinderella at Newcastle’s Theatre Royal later this year alongside their dad once more, and have previously toured with their comedy, magic, slapstick show Cirque du Hilarious.

The new fifth series of the show is set to air on CBBC later this year.
