A popular music festival held in the Yorkshire Dales is back for another year of live music, local food and family attractions.

Swinifest, held in Swinithwaite near Aysgarth, takes place on August bank holiday Sunday and will see several bands perform including Los Capitanes, a Spanish-infused acoustic band based in the North of England and headliners Stax, a soul and vintage RnB band from the North East.

The event, held at Berry’s Farm Shop, is now in its third year and is run by the Yorkshire Dales cafe, shop and catering company, Fairhursts.

The festival kicks off on August 28 at 2.30pm and is expected to run until 11pm.

Since its inception, the festival has gone from strength to strength pulling in big crowds of people of all ages.

Priding itself on celebrating local produce, gig-goers can enjoy a selection of real ales from Wensleydale Brewery and Black Sheep Brewery.

Food will be supplied by Fairhursts with ingredients from Campbells, Masham Sausage and Yorkshire Dales Meat as well as other local butchers.

Bon Coeur Fine Wines will be supplying a range of tipples and ice cream will also be available.

There's fun in store for families too with face painting and a bouncy castle.

The first act will take to the stage at 3pm with music continuing till late.

Event organiser, Guy Fairhurst said: “We are so pleased to be running this event again and we look forward to welcoming everyone to the farm shop for a fun filled day.”

Organisers Fairhursts, have been running the farm shop for over four years now, headed up by well-known Dales chef, Guy Fairhurst who regularly runs events and functions at the cafe and farm shop based in Wensleydale.

The premises, known as Fairhurst at Berry's, have now expanded and boast an online shop that runs alongside the cafe, selling homeware, fresh produce, baked goods and ready meals.
