Police have launched an appeal after a large rock was thrown through the back window of a Kia Sportage late at night in Northallerton.

The incident happened on Central Drive at around 10.45pm on July 12 and happened while the car was parked on a driveway.

Police are asking the public to help establish the circumstances around the incident.

They are also asking anyone who saw the incident or saw any suspicious activity in the area to get in touch.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “Anyone with any information that could assist the investigation should email Daren.Rosamond@Northyorkshire.Police.uk

“You can also call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for PC 561 Daren Rosamond.

“If you wish to remain anonymous, you can pass information to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
