Some councillors in Darlington are attending just a fraction of the meetings they should, The Northern Echo found.

In the year to June, just two members of the council - Conservatives Cllr Heather Scott and Cllr Scott Durham - had perfect attendance records.

The Echo analysed attendance Darlington Borough Council data for meetings councillors were expected to attend - our figures do not reflect attendance at meetings where a councillor's presence was not required.
