A man was rushed to hospital with “serious head injuries” after he was found collapsed outside of a co-op in the early hours of the morning – one man has been arrested.

The man was found outside the Co-op store on Broadway in Colburn at around 5.40am this morning (Monday, July 11)

He was quickly rushed to the hospital by ambulance where he remains in serious condition.

It is believed the injuries were suffered due to a serious assault, however, enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances around the incident.

A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and currently remains in police custody.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “Anyone who was in the area at the time, who witnessed anything or who may have captured dash cam or doorbell footage which may help the investigation is asked to email sarah.jobe@northyorkshire.police.uk.
