Further arrests have been made in connection to an investigation into a collision in which a man was critically injured.

An investigation was launched following the crash in Hartlepool on Thursday, June 23.

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the incident in Easington Road.

It happened at about 8.30pm, when a black Range Rover and a motorbike collided. The Range Rover then left the scene.

A man in his twenties suffered suspected head, pelvic and leg injuries. He remains in hospital in a “critical but stable” condition.

Two men aged 22 and 39 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A third man arrested last week aged in his thirties remains on police bail.

A fourth man aged in his twenties was released under investigation.
