The emergency services were called to a medical incident in Darlington on Monday afternoon.

Crews from the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) and North East Ambulance Service were called to near South Park at around 2pm after receiving reports of an incident nearby.

A helicopter from GNAAS landed on South Park just after 2pm.

A spokeswoman said: “Our critical care team were activated at 2pm to reports of a medical incident in Darlington. They arrived on scene at 2.08pm before returning back to base at 2.47pm.”

The nature of the medical incident is unclear. North East Ambulance Service were contacted for comment.
