TWO men have been arrested in connection with an alleged hit-and-run which claimed the life of a grandmother. 

Justine Wedgwood died after suffering serious injuries in a collision in Boosbeck, east Cleveland on Sunday.

The collision happened in Boosbeck Road, Skelton Green at about 10.45pm.

The 50-year-old leaves behind three children, three grandchildren, a brother and a father who are all grieving her loss.

Cleveland Police confirmed this evening (June 21) two men have been arrested in West Yorkshire as enquiries continue into the incident. 

A spokesperson for the force said: "Our thoughts remain with her family at this very difficult time.

"We know the incident has impacted the local community and we would like to thank residents for their support and assistance."

A 33-year-old man faces questioning on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and a 37-year-old man will be interviewed on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Inquiries are on-going.
