A new Middlesbrough venue has plans to expand with a laser tag experience.

Putter Chaos has applied to Middlesbrough Council for a licence to allow it to sell booze between 9am and 11pm Sunday to Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday.

The crazy golf venue, in the Dundas Shopping Centre, has also requested permission to play recorded music throughout the venue and for live bands to entertain customers.

However, as part of the licensing application, Redcar-based Level Up Entertainment Ltd has revealed plans for a laser tag experience too. It is not known yet when the expansion will be completed. If the alcohol license is granted, there will be two bars serving booze at the venue.

The 18-hole crazy golf course has nods to Middlesbrough’s local heritage including a Transporter Bridge hole and one inspired by the Riverside Stadium. Putter Chaos also showcases work from local artists including zx8bit, bobzilla and zerogradient.

This is another venue hoping to add to Middlesbrough’s burgeoning leisure sector. Over in Captain Cook Square, Lane 7’s new entertainment brand Level X and esports venue The Wired Lobby will be opening up in the summer.

People can make comments on the licensing application to the council until July 4.
