More food vendors and attractions are yet to set up but it is clear that there will be something for everyone.

Tees Valley Mayor, Ben Houchen, said: “It’s a great way to bring the community together. There hasn’t been an airshow here since 2017 but as the tickets are sold out, it’s clearly as popular as ever.

“No one's suggesting something like this will solve all of Teesside's issues but it does bring enjoyment.

“It's a reference point for people in this area. It's something everyone knows about and everyone's parents went to as a kid and the excitement for it is still here.”

The Red Arrows, The Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Catalina Aircraft are among the displays set to take to the air tomorrow.

Flight demonstrations will be taking place between about 12noon and 5pm, though the precise timings of displays is not being released ahead of the day.
