THE Race for Life is set to return to Darlington this month.

The annual fundraiser for Cancer Research UK is taking place at South Park, in Darlington on Sunday, June 19.

Hundreds of people are expected to turn out to walk or run the 5k route to raise funds for the charity.

The popular event usually sees crowds of people dressing up in pink or other fancy dress to make a stand against cancer.

It kicks off at South Park at 11am.

The Darlington route is a 5k loop of the park. The route begins by following the River Skerne, before crossing Parkside into the Meadows and then coming back into South Park by Squirrel Hill, the bandstand and the bowling green.

People are asked to remember their own water bottles already filled as there will be none provided on the day. There will be water refill stations available.

Please arrive 15 to 20minis before your start time so that you are prepared and ready to go on time
