A MIDDLESBROUGH restaurant shamed a group of men who left before paying the bill – but they scarpered so fast one “forgot he left his phone on charge.”

A now deleted post called on members of the public to identify the three “goons” so Manjaros in Middlesbrough could name and shame them.

The restaurant claimed that the group had left so quickly, one of them “forgot he left his phone on charge with us.”

In a CCTV image the released by the restaurant found on Linthorpe Road on Wednesday night, the group can be clearly seen eating at the table.

In an updated Facebook post the restaurant revealed the bill has now been paid and signed off with “it’s not clever to be a goonie.”

Many people have hit out at the group, one person said: “Should have named and shamed them, they most probably only came forward because you had their phones.

Others have asked if one of the members was given his phone back, one person added: “Did he get his phone back? Haha.”

Another person commented: “Probably just wanted their phone back.”
