THE public has donated to a crowdfunding page following the death of a 17-year-old girl from Darlington.

Abiagael Muttrie passed away after suffering a pulminary embolism caused by her Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus, a cindition she was born with.

A crowdfunding page was set up to help cover the the funeral, which is being held tomorrow (Wednesday, June 8) at 10am at Darlington Crematorium on Carmel Road North.

The GoFundMe page has a target set at £2,500. So far, £1,835 has been raised.

The page states that any leftover money will go towards a memorial at Beaumont Hill Academy, where Abiagael was a former pupil.

Kind words were addressed to Abiagael's family, specifically her mother Nickie Muttrie and her father, Mark Muttrie.

Jo Wade said: “A beautiful young lady with a heart of gold, love and hugs always, as I know you will be watching down on us all with a big smile on your face.”

Kelly Milne said: “So sorry to hear the awful news. Sending lots of love to the family.”

Featonby Michelle said: “The strongest, bravest young lady we have ever met. Sleep tight Angel.”
