A BARNARD Castle opticians has been upgraded to provide a wider range of optometry and audiology services to the community.

The recently refurbished Bayfields practice at 12 Market Place will enable its optometrists to offer more personalised eye testing using the latest equipment, and will see its audiology services expanded with the addition of a new audiologist in store.

Bayfields has also added an instrument room in the practice, making it more comfortable for clients having eye scans.

Eye appointments at Bayfields are longer than the industry average at 45 minutes, to allow for an extended examination of a person’s eye health and vision as well as gain an understanding of their lifestyle. Advanced eye examinations include OCT scans – assessments which are capable of detecting sight-threatening and wider health conditions.

Founded in 2004, Bayfields has grown from a leading name in optical health provision in Yorkshire to a national brand known for its family and community values.

Chris Burdis, Practice Manager, said: “Our Barnard Castle practice is a true community asset, so we’ve invested into this refurbishment, providing new equipment to enhance the client experience, to make it an even more valuable part of the local area.

“As well as improving our facilities to ensure the people of the town receive the highest quality ear and eye care possible, we’re also expanding and welcome people in the local area to consider joining our brilliant team.

“We want to make being a client of Bayfields a truly personal and individual experience, and hope the community of Barnard Castle will benefit from the steps we’ve taken to achieve this.”
