JOHNNY Depp and Sam Fender have sent fans into a frenzy after being spotted together in Newcastle.

As Depp was just minutes away from finding out whether he had won a libel lawsuit against Amber Heard, he was seen at The Bridge Tavern.

On social media, the North Tyneside singer Sam Fender revealed he was with Depp as it was confirmed the pair had been drinking at the pub.

Posting on his Instagram this evening, Fender appeared to celebrate with the huge name in film as well as guitarist Jeff Beck.

The Northern Echo:

His post carried the caption "some serious heroes" with a casual looking Fender in the centre of the picture and a smiling Depp behind him donning sunglasses and cap.

It comes as Depp and Beck are due to make an appearance at The Sage tomorrow with the event already selling out just hours after tickets first went live.

'Fair play'

Locals left gobsmacked by the events shared their shock - with many praising him for choosing to celebrate in the North East.

Depp, who had left the pub just minutes before the Amber Heard verdict came in, had been embroiled in a battle following an online article written about a 'public figure representing domestic abuse.'
