FIREFIGHTERS were seen gearing up to battle a house fire in Darlington on Sunday (May 29) morning - as the flames left the property without part of its roof and front windows. 

Emergency units from County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched to the scene of the incident on Bobbin Crescent after reports of smoke billowing out the top of a house on the street.

Numerous fire engines were dispatched to the scene, where fire hoses, ladders and breathing equipment was set up.

In the dramatic footage, which was sent to The Northern Echo, fire crews can be seen battling the flames, and the shell of a property in the distance.

Firefighters can also be seen rushing to help dampen down the fire. 

County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue have been contacted for a comment on the incident.
