A NEW pizza shop in Durham will be giving away free pizzas to the first 500 people to become subscribers, as anticipation builds for the opening of city’s newest restaurant offering next month.

Opening its doors in the heart of the city at The Riverwalk on April 14, Pizza Punks Durham will become one of countless eateries across the area, as well as building on the companies’ existing restaurants in Newcastle, Leeds, Glasgow, Belfast and Leicester.

To celebrate the opening, Pizza Punks will be handing out free pizza at the Durham restaurant to the first 500 pizza fans who sign up as a Pizza Punks subscriber here.

The lucky winners will be notified and emailed their voucher for the freebie on the opening date.

Bringing its handcrafted San Franciscan pizza dough to County Durham, pizza punks has promised “a unique dough that’s proofed for 48-hours and finished with San Marzano Tomato, Basil & Garlic Sauce and mozzarella” to those that choose to visit.  

Offering a ‘distinctive’ pizza experience – create your own - with 35 unlimited toppings to choose from, all made from scratch in the Pizza Punks kitchens, the restaurant looks to give the experience for one flat fee.

New to the Pizza Punks offering and available at the new Durham site, customers can try fresh pasta, hand-made in the restaurant each day.

As with the brand’s bespoke approach to pizza, guests will be given the option to punk up their pasta with a choice of sauces and the finest Italian ingredients. Guests can choose from toppings such as Nduja, Tuscan Sausage and Salt & Chilli Chicken.

The Riverwalk restaurant will also offer craft beers and in-house cocktails, including Drumstick Caiprisma, featuring vanilla infused rum, raspberry rum, fresh lime juice, served with retro drumstick; Smoked Popcorn Daiquiri with charred sweetcorn infused rum, sweetcorn syrup, fresh lime juice and vanilla smoke; By Monks for Punks with spiced run, pineapple juice, fresh lime juice, almond syrup, buckfast, served with salted popcorn and more.

The new 110-cover restaurant will feature neon lights, artwork, monochrome brick tiles and a stripped back aesthetic.
