ANOTHER Covid booster vaccine could be rolled out in the autumn, the Health Secretary Sajid Javid has said.

He said he expected experts to recommend an extra dose of the jab and would follow the advice of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation, which he hinted could come before the end of the year.

Speaking on ITV’s Peston programme, he said: “When it comes to vaccinations, I think we rightly take the advice of our clinicians.

“There’s a committee, it’s called the JCVI and we listen very carefully to what they’ve got to say.”

So we asked The Northern Echo's readers for their opinions - and this is what they had to say.

While some readers were all for another vaccine, others were less than impressed at the prospect of another booster.

Sonya Mullholland didn't think a fourth vaccine was necessary for her.

“I’ve had the first 3, I’m not vulnerable and I don’t bother with the flu jab so won’t be getting a 4th.”

Sheila Mortimer didn't hold back with her opinion on it.

“Absolutely no way.”

Stacey Jackson also thought it was unnecessary.

“Keep it with the first three.”

But others were keen to receive as much protection as offered.

James Cosslett said he would be happy to have another Covid booster.

“I have no problem with it. I have my flu jab every year.”

Nicola Bakes was also positive about the idea.

“I’ll take it thank you.”

Others, however, were not as keen.
