POLICE officers are investigating after an off-road bike rider was left with serious injuries after colliding with two vehicles on the outskirts of Durham City at the end of last week.

Durham Constabulary are currently investigating the incident, which happened at around 4.50pm on Friday (March 11) on Commercial Street, Brandon, outside Brandon Chippy, which saw a three-vehicle collision.

Emergency services attended the crash, with the rider of the bike suffering serious injuries, and was transported to hospital for further treatment.

After the incident, Durham Constabulary have now launched an appeal to find information from witnesses who may have witnessed the collision.

A spokesperson for the police force said: “At around 4.50pm last Friday (March 11) a green off-road bike collided with two vehicles on Commercial Street, outside Brandon Chippy.

“The rider of the bike suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any dashcam footage, is asked to call the police on 101 and ask for PC 2823 Deschacht, quoting crime incident number 323 of March 11.
