With his perfectly applied eyeliner and kitted out in his latest fashion item of very stylish black cowboy boots it seems Russell Brand is well and truly ready to take over the world, dragging all the other metrosexuals with him. His latest DVD Russell Brand; Doing Life' is a real celebration of Russell's precision and accurate overview of the world we live in filled of course with anecdotes and tales of mischief he is only too willing to share with the audience.

Naturally with Russell's flair of brutal honesty on stage he touches upon rather taboo subjects at times, but with a flash of that cheeky smile he seems to get away with it time and time again. It is a brave decision to have a light hearted joke about 9/11, Saddam Hussein's public hanging or religion but he uses his secret weapon of an inspiring vocabulary range and manages to discuss such issues with a sense of respect and real observation.

One of the strongest points of this particular DVD is his comments on childhood and growing up. His stories are personal and yet you feel like he is actually recalling a story from your own childhood memory. However, there are times when you feel like you know too much about this mans personal life, and blush knowing how he really spends his Friday nights, but with his confident presence on stage he can make the most simple of tasks sound exciting and exhilarating.

His interaction with the audience is spot on, with him entering the crowd and still managing to pull laughs on the spot. It takes a true comedian to improvise as they go along and Russell's attempt is enough evidence for Britain to stand proud to call him our own, British through and through.

Unfortunately, for all the die-hard Russell fans out there, this may sound rather repetitive with a few jokes taken from his previous DVD; Russell Brand Live' or from his recent short television series Russell Brand' s Ponderland.' However, for all the young blood only just discovering Mr. Brand, this DVD basically sums up him and his lifestyle in a hilarious, flamboyant and magical spectacle one hour.

This DVD is perfect for a depressing January night in, skint from Christmas. I guarantee plenty of giggles and an instantaneous smile on your face, prepared to face the remainder of this bleak month!
