SUPERBRAIN 2007 is Robin Taylor-Wilson - an archaeologist from Durham City.

"I am really pleased" he said. "I came second in 1995 when I did it with my dad, Don Wilson, back in the days before you could do it on the internet. It was from my dad that I got my love of quizzes and we used to spend weeks looking at old copies of The Northern Echo."

Mr Taylor-Wilson has been part of the winning team for three of the past four Superbrains, alongside former winners Peter Twiss and John Deller. He said. "I thought question 40 in TV and Films - which asked about the actress that famously sang Happy Birthday Mr President to JFK on his 46th birthday - was a good question. It did not take long to find, but I thought it might fool a lot of people into putting Marilyn Monroe without checking"

Marilyn Monroe sang Happy Birthday on JFK's 45th birthday, but Audrey Hepburn sang on his 46th.

Mr Taylor-Wilson wins the £250 first prize with his score of 293, while teammate John Deller takes the £100 runners-up prize on the same score.

The hardest question was TV and Film No 10.

Only Becky Mollon of Durham correctly identified Emmanuelle Chriqui, one of the stars of the TV series Entourage.
