AMATEUR dramatists are preparing for their latest pantomime this month.
Derwentside Pantomime Group is performing Cinderella.
Cinderella, played by Amy Camsell, is mistreated by all around her, including her stepmother, played by Jim Auden, and husband Baron Hardup (Brian Harkness).
The ugly sisters are played by Brian Harrison and Neil Pears, while Joyce Warburton plays the fairy godmother.
As Buttons, Donald Marshall provides much of the humour and the handsome prince (Anna Wilkinson) gets his girl, after swapping places with Dandini (Billie Aken-Tyers).
Group spokeswoman Virginia Aken described it as "a must see show, with a fabulous supporting cast".
He added: "This traditional pantomime will have you rolling in the aisles."
The show runs from Monday to next Saturday, at the Empire Theatre, Consett, at 7.15pm.
There will be a Saturday matinee, at 2.30pm.
Tickets cost £5. Call the box office 01207-281171.
