MOTORISTS travelling on the A1(M) in County Durham this morning are facing five miles of congestion after a collision and an oil spillage have closed one lane of the major A-road.
The incident, which occurred at around 8.15am this morning, has led to lane one of the A1(M) southbound near to junction 62 (Carrville) closing.
Highways England and emergency services have also confirmed that an oil spill also requires attention.
Drivers travelling on the stretch of road have been advised to allow extra time if travelling and commuting through the area this morning.
More to follow.
