A MAN who caused £25 worth of damage to a police building has been ordered to pay more than £100 by the courts.

North Yorkshire magistrates sitting at York on Wednesday heard that 56-year-old Timothy Brian Emms damaged a wall at the Alverton Court police HQ in Northallerton on December 7, 2021.

He pleaded guilty before magistrates to one charge of criminal damage to property.

Emms, of Hilton Square, Brompton, Northallerton, was fined £40 along with a £34 surcharge and £85 in court costs.

This means the total he has to pay is £159, with a deadline of February 2.
