TWO men will appear in court today accused of assaulting a man and leaving him with a broken nose and cheek bone.

Police attended Furness Street, in Hartlepool, late on Friday night following a report of an assault.

The alleged victim, a 29-year-old man, had sustained a fractured cheek bone and broken nose.

Cleveland Police has this morning said that two people were subsequently arrested and charged in connection with the incident, and will appear before magistrates today.

A force spokesperson said: "Two men, aged 28 and 45, are due to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court today after being charged in connection with an alleged assault on a man in Hartlepool.

"Police attended Furness Street at 11pm on Friday 14th January where a 29-year-old man had allegedly sustained a fractured cheek bone and broken nose after being assaulted."
