DOZENS of care sector posts will be on offer at a recruitment day this week.
The event, at the Durham City Jobcentre, in the city's Hallgarth Street, will be held tomorrow, between 10am and 3pm.
Vacancies include domestic assistants, handypersons, activity co-ordinators and catering assistants, with a range of full and part-time shift patterns available.
A series of drop-in sessions has been arranged to provide additional help for people seeking a new job, or to start work with companies such as Kelly Park care agency.
Advisors will be present to provide information on the free support and training available, and to help people complete applications.
Last year, more than 34,000 people from Durham, Sunderland and the surrounding areas used similar services provided by Jobcentre Plus to find work.
Dave Peebles, district manager of Jobcentre Plus, said: "January is obviously a popular time for people to look for a new job, with many making resolutions to improve their current situation.
"For people who have been out of work for a long time, making that first step towards change can be difficult."
Tomorrow's session has been organised to make the job-seeking process as easy as possible.
Anyone interested in securing work in the care sector is invited to attend.
