Reports first began to appear on Down Detector, a service for reporting website outages, between 5am and 6am on Thursday, January 6.

46 per cent of issues are related to the Instagram feed, Down Detector reports suggests.
Instagram issues have been reported across the UK and Ireland with users in London, Manchester and Dublin most affected.
