A HIT and run driver who knocked a cyclist off his bike and drove away from the scene, is being sought by police.

Cleveland Police has appealed for witnesses to the fail to stop collision which happened in Ingleby Barwick on Boxing Day, Sunday, December 26.

A 60-year-old male pedal cyclist was on Low Lane at the junction with Ingleby Way at around 6.10pm when he was in collision with a four-wheel drive.

Police say that the vehicle, possibly a black Audi, then left the scene without stopping.

The cyclist suffered minor injuries.

Officers appealed for the driver of the vehicle and anyone else with information to contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number, quoting ref CVP-21-218879.
