Teesdale Three Waterfalls Circular

The 8km walk is based in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). 

With routes starting at the Bowless Visitor Centre and leading to the impressive waterfalls. 

Not only do you get to see the waterfalls but you will see the stunning views across the flower moorlands and the plant-rich wooded valley slopes. 

Beamish Park and Causey Arch Circular

This walk is a reasonable 6.4km and features natural wildflowers along with spectacular views too. 

Perfect for hiking, walking, running, and bird watching, it's a popular destination for all to enjoy. 

You can also see some of Britain's most important industrial heritage like the Causey Arch which is the older arch railway bridge. 

Hamsterley Forest

The forest offers four great walking trails with a cafe, a play area, and even two horse riding trails. 

It's the perfect place to stargaze, take the family for some fresh air, and mountain biking. 

There's also the Gruffalo Spotters for little ones to enjoy where you can interact with the Gruffalo in the woods. 

Broken Scar

In Darlington, you can walk along the paths that will lead you to the open area of a pebble beach with low-level water. 

With a picnic site, you can take a break and enjoy the impressive views that surround the area. 

There's also parking available or you can take the local bus if you prefer a car-free journey. 

Walworth Castle to Piercebridge Roman Fort

This trek is a reasonable 7 miles and is rated medium and features a river that runs along the walk. 

Along the way, you'll get to see some amazing views including forests, local villages and many more breathtaking scenes.
