A GROUP of foot specialists are celebrating after their practice received an award.
Teesdale Chiropody and Podiatry, in Barnard Castle, has been given an Accreditation from the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.
Before receiving the award, the clinic, in Star Yard, was assessed on aspects such as cleanliness, staff training, patient care and practice working methods.
Practice owner and podiatrist Lesley Sutherland said: "We are delighted to receive this award which recognises the support, commitment and expertise of all of our team.
"We have a practice which provides treatments of the highest standards.
"In recent years, chiropody has changed dramatically beyond the traditional treatment of nails, corns and calluses. We are now able to help people who suffer a wide range of foot and lower limb pain."
Ms Sutherland set up the practice, which employs six people, with her partner, Alan Best, last year.
