A CAR engine burst into flames whilst it was parked outside a hospital yesterday.

The vehicle was in the car park at Bishop Auckland Hospital yesterday morning when it caught fire just before 10am.

Emergency services were called and a crew from the town’s fire station attended the scene.

It is understood the car belonged to a woman who was waiting for someone to leave the hospital.

Nobody is thought to have been hurt.
