POLICE are “urgently” appealing for information to help find a man from Scarborough who went missing soon after leaving hospital.

Police say Alexander Alehna, aged 35, was last seen at 4pm on Tuesday December 21 when he was leaving hospital.

Mr Alehna did not return home and he has not turned up to his place of work in Malton, according to police.

Officers say concerns are growing for his welfare and police enquiries are ongoing in York in particular in the effort to locate him and confirm his safety.

He was last seen wearing a beige jacket, dark blue jeans, a black Nike hat, and the same blue checked short-sleeve shirt and blue adidas trainers that he has on in the picture.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “If you have seen a man matching Alexandars’ description or photo, or you have any information that could help the missing person inquiry, please contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, option 1, and speak to the Force Control Room.
