Gary Barlow’s concert at Newcastle Arena on Saturday has been cancelled due to Covid.

The news will be huge blow to his fans in the region, and the Arena say the gig will not be rearranged.

The Take That singer has been on a nationwide tour since November, singing at venues across the country, and on Thursday and Friday performing at the O2 in London.

But at 11pm on Friday an announcement by the Newcastle Arena confirmed that Barlow’s gig in the North East has been axed.

The statement read: “Due to a Covid outbreak within the touring party, we regret that tomorrow’s concert by Gary Barlow at Utilita ArenaNewcastle has been cancelled and unfortunately cannot be rescheduled.

“Refunds will be available from the point of purchase. Have a safe and happy Christmas.”
