AN investigation is underway after cars parked overnight in a village were targeted by someone slashing their tyres.

Six reports were made by residents of Ingleby Barwick, near Stockton, at the weekend and it is thought other vehicles may have been targeted but not reported to police.

The reported incidents took place between Saturday and Monday.

Cleveland Police is investigation the incidents and is appealing for anyone with information of private CCTV to come forward.

A spokesperson said: "The force has received six reports of tyres being slashed in the Rings overnight between Saturday, December 11 and Monday, December 13.

"It is believed many other vehicles were also targeted but they have not been reported to police."

Anyone who has CCTV can upload it to the digital policing portal.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 210129.
