A MIDDLESBROUGH  man was fined after appearing in court for failing to pay for a train fare in Dartford.

Adam Borlandhcourtney, of Limetrees Close in Middlesbrough, appeared at North Kent Magistrates Court on Tuesday November 23.

The man travelled on the train without having paid for his fare of £13, landing him in the courts.

The 28-year-old was proved in absence, meaning he did not attend the hearing.

He was fined £220 and magistrates asked him to pay £13 in compensation as a result.

The court also asked him to pay a further £34 to victim services and court costs of £135.
