Planning consent for 18 new homes at Cringlefields in Little Crakehall was granted last month, and after completing the purchase, Newett Homes will start construction before the end of the year.

Five of the 18 homes on the 1.2-acre site will be affordable and the other 13 will be a mix of two, three and four bedroomed terraces, semi-detached and detached homes.

There will also be two, two-bedroom bungalows.

The properties are due to complete by December 2022.

Owner of Newett Homes, Will Newett, said: “We currently have two developments in North Yorkshire and are delighted to be starting a third soon.

There are just a few homes left for sale at The Meadows in Dishforth and we will be launching an exclusive development of three, four and five bedroom homes in Harrogate shortly."

He said the Bedale site was 'an exciting opportunity' for buyers.
