ONE of the North East’s leading open-air venues has promised to make up for lost time, with the unveiling of its festival-style plans just in time for New Year’s Eve.

STACK Newcastle has fast become one of the region’s go-to spots for live music and street food.

And because New Year’s Eve 2020 was such a disappointment due to lockdown, the venue has decided to host “the party of the year”, with a special ticketed event on December 31, 2021.

The evening will include live music provided by one of STACK’S regular bands who will play party favourites, along with resident DJ Aaron Robson, who will be on the decks throughout the night.

And to ensure that nobody misses out, early bird tickets for the event have now gone on sale, priced at £10 plus booking fee per person.

However, these aren’t expected to be there for long. Kevin Walker, entertainments director at Danieli Group, which owns STACK Newcastle, believes it will be a sell-out.

He said: “STACK is now a well-established live entertainment venue, and our regular bands play the hits people of all ages want to enjoy.

“We didn’t get the chance to celebrate last year, so this year, we want to make it special and social – what better way than to get together with friends and families to enjoy live music and the festival-style atmosphere we create.”

STACK normally operates as a walk-in venue, but for New Year’s Eve, the event will be ticketed to manage capacity and give customers guaranteed entry.

Entry will be from 8pm, and tables are on a first come first serve basis. All the street food vendors will be open, serving their full menus.

Neill Winch, CEO of Danieli Group, added: “Since opening in the summer of 2018, we have been overwhelmed by the customer support we have received – especially during Covid restrictions.

“The venue would not be the vibrant place it is without the people of Newcastle who have fully embraced STACK and made it their own.

"We hope New Year’s Eve can bring our customers together to join us for a massive celebration and to end the year on a real positive note.”
