POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses after a robbery in Thornaby.

On Thursday, November 11 between 4.45am and 5am, a 19-year-old man was cycling along Acklam Road onto Mitchell Avenue on a pink and black ‘Ghost’ mountain bike when he was followed by two people, who were both on pedal cycles.

As he approached the Roundel Public House, near to Stainsby Gate, one of the suspects kicked the victim, leading him to crash his bike and be knocked unconscious.

When the victim awoke, his pedal cycle had been stolen and an elderly man walking a dog approached the victim and spoke to him briefly before walking away. Officers would like to speak to this man as he may be able to assist with their enquiries.
