ARTISTS can enjoy a brush with local fame with the chance to showcase their work over the festive season.

Gallery submissions are needed for Bishop Auckland Town Hall’s (BATH) annual Open Art Exhibition, bringing together art from across County Durham.

Work in a range of mediums and genres is needed for the display in the BATH Gallery space from December 6 to January 29.

Artists can submit up to three pieces of artwork each, wall mounted or free standing, which is then chosen by a panel to ensure a variety of work is displayed.

Applications, for pieces submitted either for sale or for exhibition only, must be made by Monday (Nov 1).

To submit an application for the gallery, artists must send either photographic images of their work or pieces from a portfolio, with the sizes of each piece included.

Any wall-mounted art must be submitted with mirror plates already attached and already framed if necessary.

Free-standing sculptures will be included depending on size and stability.

Application forms are available by emailing BATHGallery@durham.gov.uk, or by visiting www.bishopaucklandtownhall.org.uk/gallery/current-exhibition/.
