A CONVICTED sex offender has been warned he faces jail if he continues to push the boundaries of his notification requirements.

Wulfy Graham, formerly known as Scott Fawcett, set up a new Xbox profile without informing his offender manager.

The 33-year-old has breached the court order on several occasions since he was jailed for sexual activity with a child a decade ago, Teesside Crown Court heard.

Dr Chris Wood, prosecuting, said the defendant told officers about the account when they attended his home as part of a routine inspection to assess his behaviour.

He said he had used the account rustyspoons-4294 for several days in May before he was arrested.

Dr Wood said: "As part of the requirements he would have to register any name or user name associated to himself. He was regularly reminded of his obligations at risk review meetings.

"Prior to this offence, he had only had one the previous year so was aware."

The court heard how Graham the offence was the fourth breach of conditions with them taking place in 2015, 2018 and 2020.

Graham, of Dovecot Street, Stockton, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with notification requirements when he didn't inform authorities of his online account.

Kelleigh Lodge, in mitigation, said her client had told the police on the day they visited his home and admitted the breach.

Judge Jonathan Carroll said: "This is against a pattern of non-compliance, not just to the extent of committing the three previous breaches but his general attitude and demeanour towards the police is to kick against any restriction at any opportunity he can.

"This defendant does not see why he is under control, he doesn't like it and he is doing all he can to frustrate it."

Miss Lodge said Graham accepted that he hadn't informed the authorities of the new online gamer name and admitted the breach.

Judge Carroll said: "There's a risk assessment here that identifies him as a high risk and one of the reasons is because they have identified that he is reluctant about the order and doing all he can to test the boundaries of it all times.

"This is part of a pattern of behaviour."

The judge sentenced Graham to eight months in custody, suspended for two years after he 'pushed and tested the boundaries' of the order.

He said: "You are indefinitely required to register as a sex offender, it is in my judgement, that is something that you are not at all pleased about – well tough.

"Society would be shocked if your behaviour, movements and access to the internet was not closely monitored and indeed it is. In your case it is extremely closely monitored because you are a high risk of serious harm."

Graham was also ordered to attend 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days and perform 120 hours of unpaid work.
